Straight to the Pool Room!
This 150mm brass disc is to be used in the creation of our year's wall plaque, to be mounted in the Bar here at Mawson station. The image is from the AAD's logo to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Mawson's expedition. I'll put up a photo of the finished product when the chippies have done their bit!

Hmm, so what's the go with that? Did you make that plaque? I know you had plans to do some artistic metal works as a hobby while you are down there. Or is this just something that someone brought along for this purpose of hanging it up down there?

I did the carving and polishing, using a logo I obtained from the AAD. Each year, the Wintering crew make a wall plaque with something pretty and their names to hang in the Bar. This will be the "shiny" bit for our year. R
